By Fluid Sealing Asbestos & Non Asbestos Gland Packing

MI-3915 is a special packing manufactured from a High Structural Carbon Fiber Yarn. The packing is thoroughly impregnated with a custom made Graphite based HIGRAPH dispersion to act as blocking agent. The interbraid construction and the blocking agent prevent body leakage of any gaseous or liquid material. The packing is also incorporated with Molybdenum based metal corrosion inhibitors to prevent pitting of the stem. This packing has high mechanical strength & dimensional stability, low coefficient of friction, excellent resistance to chemicals and excellent heat dissipation for cooler shaft runs without wear to packing volume, thus, ensuring excellent Sealing service.

Gland packing is a type of sealing material used to fill the space between a rotating shaft and a stationary housing or between two mating parts in a mechanical system. To properly install gland packing in a sealing application, the packing should be lubricated and then carefully packed into the gland or seal housing. The gland should then be tightened to the appropriate torque to compress the packing and create a seal.
The main benefit of using gland packing in a sealing application is that it is a relatively simple and cost-effective way to create a seal. It is also relatively easy to install and maintain.
The choice of gland packing material can significantly affect the performance of the seal. Different materials have different properties and are suitable for different applications. For example, PTFE packing is resistant to chemicals, but for high temperatures, it may not be as durable as other materials.
